Road To Sanity
I never felt that I had a choice in altering my life.
My decisions had been based on fear, pride, or ego.
As a result, those decisions led me down
a path of self-destruction.
Today I try to allow my God to guide me on the road to sanity.
I am responsible for my action -- or inaction --
whatever the consequences may be.

From the Big Book:
"We did exactly the same thing with our lives. We took stock honestly. First, we searched out the flaws in our make-up which caused our failure. Being convinced that self, manifested in various ways, was what had defeated us, we considered its common manifestations."
c. AAWS, Alcoholics Anonymous, How It Works, p. 64.
Prayer for the day:
"I pray that I may willingly submit to whatever spiritual discipline is necessary. I pray that I may accept whatever it takes to live a better life."

Quote for the day:

My share: It is not by mistake that the first step of action is taking a personal inventory. Without an honest assessment of what was really going on in my life, I highly doubt I would be sober today. The admonition to "be fearless and thorough from the very start" got my attention because I was committed to do whatever it takes to get and stay sober. Be Good To You, Dave.
