YOU DO NOT EXIST FOR YOURSELF

Your success depends on the support of other people.
The only hurdle between you and what you want to be,
is the support of others.

Put yourself in another's place,
and you'll know why they think and do certain things.
You can succeed fastest by helping others to succeed.

Always think in terms of what the other person wants.
You'll get everything in life that you want
if you'll help enough other people get what they want.
Doing things for others always pays dividends.

You're not an isolated island.
You're a piece of the planet, a piece of the universe.
Personal relationships are the fertile soil

from which all advancement,
all success, all achievement in real life grows.

When you help someone's boat across a river,
you'll find your own boat has reached the shore too.

__The Daily Guru

From the Big Book:

"Students of ancient history tell us that the intellect of men in those days was equal to the best of today.  Yet in ancient times material progress was painfully slow.  The spirit of modern scientific inquiry, research and invention was almost unknown.  In the realm of the material, men's minds were fettered by superstition, tradition, and all sort of fixed ideas.  Some of the contemporaries of Columbus thought a round earth preposterous. Others came near putting Galileo to death for his astronomical heresies."

c. 1939, AAWS, Alcoholics Anonymous, We Agnostics, p.51.

Prayer for the day:

"I pray that I may not be held back by the material things of the world.  I pray that I may let God lead me forward."  c. 1975, Hazelden Foundation, Twenty-Four Hours A Day, July 3.

Quote for the day:

"If you're going to be able to look back on something and laugh about it, you might as well laugh about it now."  __Marie Osmond

My share:

Sometimes it isn't clear how to sustain and nurture a personal relationship.  Others don't always do things the way we expect them to.  Sometimes we can't understand why others get upset with us. Others can't always understand our intentions.  As long as we don't shut down channels of communication, as long as we don't summarily dismiss each others friendship, we have a chance to change and make our fellowship stronger. Be Good To You, Dave.
