Super-Consciousness
Men often think over their problems just before going to sleep and get a solution in their dreams or immediately upon awakening. This is because their minds were so active on the intellectual plane that they could not make contact with the silent inner plane where ideas work. When the conscious mind is stilled and one makes contact with the super-consciousness, it begins to show us how our affairs will work out or how we can help to bring about the desired prosperity. This is the law of mind. The principle is within each one of us, but we must be spiritually quickened in life and in understanding before we can successfully work in accord with it. __The Daily Guru
From the Big Book:
"....your own conception of God...At the start, this was all we needed to commence spiritual growth, to effect our first conscious relation with God as we understood Him. Afterward, we found ourselves accepting many things which then seemed entirely out of reach. That was growth, but if we wished to grow we had to begin somewhere. So we used our own conception, however limited it was."
c. 1939, AAWS, Alcoholics Anonymous, We Agnostics, p. 47.
Prayer for the day:
"I pray that I may not let God be crowded out by the hurly-burly of life.
I pray that I may seek God early and often."
c.1975, Hazelden Foundation, Twenty-Four Hours A Day, June 16.
Quote for the day: "Those who have known grief seldom seem sad." __Benjamin Disraeli
My share:
My conception of a Higher Power included the loving and caring aspects of God the Father as taught by the Lutheran faith. But it also included understanding of the all encompassing and benevolent conception of Creator Consciousness as touted by the Urantia Book, plus notions of the wisdom of the Universe through teachings of Buddha and Confucius. My friend's higher power is a native American style great spirit. We are both still sober. Make God your own. Be Good To You, Dave.
