Meetings
Sometimes, the body can speak an eloquent language all its own. I see and feel that in meetings. So coming to regular meetings of AA is a priceless experience for me on a great many levels -- mental, spiritual, social, and now possibly physical. Listening quietly is already a joy to me, and if it calms me down and lowers my blood pressure in the process, that's just another great reason to keep coming back.

From the Big Book:
"We who have traveled this dubious path, beg you to lay aside prejudice, even against organized religion. We have learned that whatever the human frailties of various faiths may be, those faiths have given purpose and direction to millions. People of faith have a logical idea of what life is all about. Actually, we used to have no reasonable conception whatever. We used to amuse ourselves by cynically dissecting spiritual beliefs and practices when we might have observed that many spiritually-minded persons of all races, colors and creeds were demonstrating a degree of stability, happiness and usefulness which we should have sought ourselves." c. 1939, AAWS, Alcoholics Anonymous, We Agnostics, p. 49.
Prayer for the day:
"I pray that I may accept the limitless and eternal Spirit. I pray that It may express itself in my life." c. 1975, Hazelden Foundation, Twenty-Four Hours A Day, June 25.
Quote for the day:
"They resemble us in more ways than they differ from us."
__Pearl Buck
My share:
I had given up completely any contact with religious people. The hypocrisy I found in the church of my youth and it's intolerance of my sexual identity left me aside from any congregation with a child's understanding of spiritual principles. It took thirty years of alcoholic behavior and the program of Alcoholics Anonymous to convince me that there was more to spirituality than the sum of its human parts. Be Good To You, Dave
