Guilt
Day by day, we try to move a little toward God's perfection. So we need not be consumed by maudlin guilt for failure to achieve His likeness and image by Thursday next. © 1967 AAWS, As Bill Sees It, p. 15
From the Big Book:
"On one proposition, however, these men and women are strikingly agreed. Every one of them has gained access to, and believes in, a Power grater than himself. This Power has in each case accomplished the miraculous, the humanly impossible. As a celebrated American statesman put it, 'Let's look at the record'."
c. AAWS, Alcoholics Anonymous, We Agnostics, p. 50.
Prayer for the day:
"I pray that I may gladly leave my future in God's hands.
I pray that I may be confident that good things will happen, as long as I am on the right path."
c 1975, Hazelden Foundation, Twenty-Four Hours A Day, June 28.
Quote for the day:
"One cannot collect all the beautiful shells on the beach."
__ Ann Morrow Lindbergh
My share:
Discovering the Power greater than myself helped me understand the difference between being guitly and feeling guilty. I will always be guilty of the awful things I am responsible for. But, I no longer must wallow in the guilt that demoralized me. I have forgiven myself. Be Good To You, Dave.
