Change
The world is changing constantly, and I am no longer afraid of this change.
I want to be a part of it and its new developments.
I have been shown, and fully believe today, that faith can move mountains.
I once encountered many blind alleys, but today,
as long as I have faith, my path is clear. . .
Whatever problems confront me, large or small, they can be solved wisely.
Or they can be solved my way. The choice is mine.
c. 1973 AAWS, Came To Believe . . ., p. 60
From the Big Book:
"...the frightful day came when I drank once more. The curve of my declining moral and bodily health fell off like a ski-jump. After a time I returned to the hospital. This was the finish, the curtain, it seemed to me. My weary and despairing wife was informed that it would all end with heart failure during delirium tremens, or I would develop a wet brain, perhaps within a year. She would soon have to give me over to the undertaker or the asylum." __Bill Wilson
c. 1939, AAWS, Alcoholics Anonymous, Bill's Story, p.7
Prayer for the Day:
"I pray that I may get myself out of the way, so that God's power may flow in.
I pray that I may surrender myself to that power."
c. 1975, Hazelden Foundation, Twenty-Four Hours A Day, Jan 23.
Quote for the Day:
"The more you can experience the interconnectedness of all beings,
the healthier you will be." __ Andrew Weil
My share:
I believed in the interconnectedness of all things from an early age. Yet somehow I was not a part of it all. The disconnect was real, pervasive and isolating. The more I drank to be a part of the community, the more lonely I became. Finally, I embraced the program of Alcoholics Anonymous and the changes I could make in the way I perceived the world. Today I am surrounded by a more loving community than I could ever have found in those bars. And now I am definitely a part of, no longer alone. Be Good To You, Dave
