Zink : Pathfinder Scholarship entry.

Scholarship entry.

Posted on May 28th, 2007 by Zink : Pathfinder Zink
I reproduce here the entry I submitted for the Zaadz scholarship survey.
Two questions were asked.

1) WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU WEREN'T AFRAID?
Fear had dissolved my motivation.
Fear had crippled and paralyzed me.
Fear had resulted in isolation and self loathing.
Fear had nearly killed me.
I am less fearful today than I was yesterday.
I'll be less fearful tomorrow than today.
For I have found faith.
Faith that universal power lies within me.
Faith that nothing is impossible, hat the impossible merely takes a little longer.
Today I cherish one single fear and guard it daily.
A healthy fear of backsliding into the incomprehensible demoralization I struggled out of ten years ago.
Today I know I never have to feel like that again.
Today, almost fearless, I grow in the sunshine of the spirit.

2) HOW ARE YOU GOING TO CHANGE THE WORLD?
I am a student of the theater and one might wonder how any play or movie or ballet might change the world. Yet throughout history theater has ultimately changed the world in a myriad of ways. As theater mirrors reality so theater morphs reality. Theater has often been responsible by embracing dissent and radical concepts that ultimately resulted in social change.
I intend to continue that tradition by offering entertainments that pose the pertinent questions of our times.

But one cannot change the world until one changes ones self.
I cannot give away that which I do not possess.
Ten years ago I was fortunate enough to discover a design for living that requires rigorous honesty. The principles involved in that “program” brought about a change in myself that is measurable by myself and noticeable by those around me. The people in my life have benefited as much from my involvement with this program as I have.
I change the world by living life on life's terms.
I change the world by accepting that a power greater than myself nurtures me.
I change the world by seeking spiritual progress not perfection..
I change the world by maintaining an attitude of gratitude.
I change the world by practicing service to others above self.
I change the world by being the person I am capable of being,
I change the world by setting an example
I change the world if my example encourages even one other to change in his reactions.
